Catena purchases PokerScout for $350,000. On November 3, Catena Media announced an excellent news. The Maltese advertising firm invested in the USA. The news surfaced a few days after the legalization of the gaming in PA. Following the announcement the CEO said. “ This acquisition is well-timed! Especially, given that PA is set to open its market for online gaming. We hope that more states will follow in its footsteps. ”
Who is Catena?
Well, they’re a young company, that started in Malta 5 years ago. The founders are Swedish. Their company focuses on advertising and performance network. They also provide leads to online casinos. Additionally, they own several forums. They pride themselves on giving a voice to players in the gaming community.
By purchasing PokerScout, they increase their distribution network in the USA. Indeed, the company also bought many other domains owned by PokerScout. The press release made no mention of the exact number of domains included in the deal. This is the first major acquisition from the group. Catena has offices in the UK, Malta, and Serbia. In 2017 they’ve announced a growth strategy focused on regulated markets and the USA. It seems that this acquisition solidifies their strong company vision. But also that Catena could have a bright future in the USA. Especially if the states rumored to relax their gaming law, relaxes them.
Is poker coming back to life?
The rumor is that poker is making a comeback! Indeed, we all know that the poker industry has seen a decline over the past years. But, a recent deal between Delaware, NJ, and Nevada may mean it’s coming back to life. Several experts seem to think so. In fact, Alex Dreyfus owner of GPI (Global Poker Index) predicted it a long time ago. Who knows if Pennsylvania will jump on the poker wagon? Catena and GPI sure seem to think so! But, time will tell and we’re looking forward to reporting any news on this front.
